Heartland Information Services: Corporate Overview
Heartland Information Services is among the industry leaders in medical transcription services. A recent independent survey by KLAS® Enterprises ranked Heartland third overall out of 12 outsourced transcription firms.
Founded in 1997 in Toledo, Ohio, Heartland applied its proprietary GEMSTAR™ dictation and transcription system to grow from a handful of employees to a firm that now employs more than 2,500 medical transcriptionists worldwide.
After being acquired by HCR ManorCare in 2000, Heartland fueled its growth by focusing on improved quality, faster turnaround times and translating transcription efficiency into financial advantages for its customers.
Beecken Petty O’Keefe & Company – a private equity firm based in Chicago – purchased majority ownership of Heartland in 2007.
Heartland Information Services is still headquartered in Toledo. The company also features transcription work centers in Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune and Delhi, India, plus a network of qualified at-home transcriptionists providing service to more than 200 hospitals and clinical customers.
